Employee Spotlight: Meet Molly Rourke

Feedr wouldn’t be where we are today without the talented and diverse people working behind the scenes who make sure mealtimes at the office are as seamless as possible. From UX/UI designers to account managers and operations, we want to showcase the amazing employees behind the scenes!

Today we’re focusing on the person in charge of the people – Molly, our fantastic People and Talent Officer!

What are your top 3 most used emojis on slack?

What does a typical day look like for you?

Work in HR can vary quite a lot and I can’t say there is one typical day for me!

I usually like to spend the first hour of the day catching up on emails to make sure I haven’t missed anything. I’ll then prioritise my workload and pick up anything urgent. Most days include some work on recruitment, whether it’s looking for new people, updating job descriptions and adverts or conducting phone screenings.

I also like to make time to check in with different people from the company to make sure everyone is happy and ask if there is anything they’d like me to work on.

Favourite software or tech solution?

Might be biased but I’ll have to say Feedr.

Last book you read or podcast you listened to?

The last book I read was Destiny Disrupted: A History of the World through Islamic Eyes by Tamim Ansary – it’s looking at the history of the world from an Eastern perspective (I really love history!)

What have you always wanted to try but haven’t yet?

I’ve always wanted to try skydiving!

Tell us something about yourself that usually surprises people?

I’ve been playing the bagpipes since I was 11 and have even played for the Queen.

What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?

I would probably be working in events management – I love working with people!

What do you like to do when you aren’t working?

I love music – playing it and listening to it, but I’m also a big fan of watching 80s films.

Where’s your favourite place in the world?

My favourite place in the world is anywhere in South America. I really love the culture and the people there and would love to live there one day.

What is one food that you cannot resist?

Macaroni and Cheese, I’ve always loved it and don’t think that will ever go away!

What type of cuisine is your favourite?

Probably Italian, although Thai food is a close second.

What do you look for in a good lunch?

Something that will fill me up without making me feel sluggish in the afternoon.

Who is your favourite Feedr vendor?

At the minute it’s probably The Salad Kitchen.
