What does IWD mean to you?

It’s about doing what we can to truly make a positive difference for gender equality – celebrating women’s achievements, raising awareness against gender bias, and helping put more women at the table where decisions are being made.

What positive progress have you seen on gender equality for women in tech?

While the tech industry still has a long way to go to achieve gender equality in the workplace, there has been a rise in organisations focused on promoting diversity and inclusion as well as an increase in flexible working arrangements to help retain talent and attract more qualified working mothers looking to balance childcare with their careers.

Who inspires you?

Malala Yousafzai – for being truly brave and fighting for what she believes in.

How do you support and/or feel supported by other female colleagues at Feedr?

I think it’s so important that women in the workplace support and empower one another. I feel fortunate to have fostered some great relationships with female colleagues at Feedr and be part of a culture when women learn from each other, look out for one another and celebrate each other’s successes.

Believe in yourself and dream big – the sky’s the limit!

Linda Blank, COO

What does IWD mean to you?

Gender equality in the workplace and celebrating achievements of women at work.

What positive progress have you seen on gender equality for women in tech?

It’s no longer seen as a strange thing to be a woman in tech. Yes, there are still more men in tech (and STEM more broadly) but women working in tech are no longer seen as the exception. I remember one of my friends at uni was the only girl in her Comp Science degree but at Feedr, for instance, we have a bunch of girls in the tech team.

Who inspires you?

It sounds like a cliche but it’s my mum who inspires me! She’s a self-made businesswoman who worked and put herself through uni. She is the first and most important example of a working mum that me and my sister have seen in our life.

How do you support and/or feel supported by other female colleagues at Feedr?

It’s a very inclusive environment with great female representation among the leadership and management team. As a result, we have a team that works around everyone’s commitments outside of work, built on trust in each other’s work and collaboration.

On International Women’s Day, what is the most important message you want to send out to young women?

Be brave and remember you’re paving the way for the next generation.
